Evaluation Question 1 CONTINUED - Comparing (2nd part)

I chose to compare our title sequence to "A kiss from Tokyo." This film is slightly similar to our in that it involves an aggressive woman. However this is an animated film so the similarities stop there. The opening sequence shares some similarities too though with similar colours used. The red font is used here and also used in our one. This gives it that feminine/evil/romantic side. The font for the main title is quite informal but unique whereas ours was formal. However the smaller titles did share some similarities in that the font used was formal and clear just like ours. The title sequence developed the forms and conventions. This is also shown in ours where there is another similarity in that we both start with the production company. Also the shots used were close up and detailed to show the character well. We both focused on the feminine side with close ups to feminine features and also with the mise en scene. For example we both had a shot of the red heels whilst the girl is walking. We also both had close ups of the girls eyes to show the evil emotion within women. The order of the sequence was also similar and this basically followed the norms of a title sequence.
