Q. 1. In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products?

Because we wasn't really sure on which institution we should use for our opening sequence,
we decided to use the Candi Studios one because it was easier for us to find and it also went
pretty well with our sequence, where it had this original thrilling suspense to it, it went well.
This is our title for our title sequence. We decided to use 'UNEXPECTED' because our film is basically about guys who date this one girl but do not expect something to happen to then at the end.. we used the colour read because it symbolizes the fact that there is death involved. the sound over this is a non diegetic
this here is a close up of girl (killer) and the guy on a date at the dinner table
holding hands. we have used the same font as the title for the credits only that
it is in small letters and not all capitals, this is because we wanted to keep it
consistent. we wanted to make sure that the sound creates suspense so we used
a violin playing continuously and at some points it gets louder then goes back to
low repeatedly.
This here is a over the shoulder shot that we did. Here we added a screaming sound which keeps the audience alert and (hopefully) scares them too. we did this to lead it into the back-flash to show what she has done in the past so the audience get a bit of understanding on what it is about.
this is a close up of one of the killers victim from the past. this is where the back-flash leads to. the sound here is the original sound of him making noises as he needs some help. we did not add any other sound into this part because we thought that it is more effective.

COMPARISON.

The title sequence i choose to compare with ours is "HE LOVES ME, HE LOVES ME NOT" i only choose this because it is actually quite similar to ours. why i say it is similar is because it is also a romantic thriller only the story-lines are different. another similarity in this opening sequence is the way their credits fade in and fade out - just like ours. There font isn't exactly the same though and nor is the the colour of is formal, and so is ours but where theres seems more of a bit of comedy, their credits has a little twist to show it. also, the film is focused more on female than male which is another similarity. however their institution also seems cheap like ours. i chose this shot because it reminds me much of the shoulder shot in ours where she looks into the mirror.
